Seminario "Intraducibles: feminismos, migraciones, afectos"

Participantes: Prof. Dr. Silvia Federici (Hofstra University), Julieta Hanono (artista), Dr. Mara Montanaro (investigadora y curadora), Dr. Fernanda Ugalde (Museum Rietberg), Prof. Dr. Fabienne Brugère (Université Paris 8), Ernesto Óscar Talero (líder Qom), Mariacristina Lattarulo (curadora), Paloma Ayala (artista), Paula B. 2023 LZZ Annual Conference & SSLAS workshop

Public conference on August 24th-25th, 2023.
The 2023 Annual Conference of the Latin American Center and SSLAS Workshop examined the origins, cultural diversity and transformations of indigenous communities in South America, as well as their modes of resistance and resilience today. Furthermore, this two-day event discussed the legacy of several Swiss and German scientists who explored the continent and built museum collections in Europe between the 18th and mid-20th centuries. We did so through a myriad of disciplines, methodologies and perspectives.
It is precisely here, in the interweaving of academic disciplines, research and museum collections, that this event in Zurich is situated. It featured two keynote lectures on South America’s first settlers (by Arturo Jaimes and Chiara Barbieri), and over twenty junior and senior researchers who presented and discussed their respective research projects.
The event was organized in collaboration with the Department of Paleontology (UZH, AG Sánchez-Villagra). Additionally, it continued the joint work between SSLAS and SLAS (School of Latin American Studies, UK) begun at the previous SSLAS workshop in Bern (May 2023).
The event was held in Spanish, Portuguese and English.
